Authentic Man (Michael Reed)

Dissatisfaction upon the deep collapse of desire unfulfilled finds the majority of humanity lost in a vain striving after the Golden Goose. We define our success upon things temporal by nature. It is no wonder that such ‘success’ ultimately gives way to failure. Yet, this very same restlessness can be directed toward a more positive goal, that of spiritual enrichment. It is only through Self-Understanding and Self-Acceptance that we can find liberation from the cycle of growth and decay. True contentment and prosperity can be found only to the extent of such realisation. Therein lies today’s quest.

We are called to play the good Samaritan on life’s roadside, but that will be only an initial act. One day we must come to see that the whole Jehrico road must be changed so that men and women not be constantly beaten and robbed as they make their journey on life’s highway. True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.
