Overzealousness occludes judgement and discernment. We become enraptured to the extent that our vision is narrowed and our wits dulled by all else other than the object of our ardour. Materialism and Mass Consumption threaten to devour us all unless we see fit to understand that there can be another way. We have known nothing other than a self-destructive way of life for far too long and have forgotten the simplicity of life outside of the pursuit of material acquisition. Living in harmony with the environment comes naturally to other species. Yet, we have abused our sentience and created a rod for our own back. It’s time now to heal the damage done, through first recognising the extent of it, and then choosing to live more simply.
