Uranus is presently transiting the final portion of the sign of Pisces ahead of its entry into Aries on Thursday. A planet on the cusp of a sign operates in a manner that exudes its influence over the neighbouring sign. The sign of Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of passion and action. Mars was the Roman god of War. Already we are hearing stories of unrest as tension mounts between the US and South Korea on one side, against North Korea on the other. North Korea is being accused of sinking a South Korean ship, sparking the stand off.
Violence is also rampant in Kingston, Jamaica as police attempt to find an alleged drug lord who is also known to be a benefactor of the people. Jamaican civilians have been protecting and defending him.
As Saturn in Virgo is still separating from an opposition with both Uranus and Jupiter, the world markets are taking a sharp fall over the European economic crisis and the North Korean crisis. Virgo, ruled by Mercury is associated with commerce.
The astrological influence of the planets makes profound and perfect sense. The opposition between Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces and Saturn in Virgo has built up tension. Uranus is the planet of freedom and revolution. And, Jupiter is expansive. But Saturn brings obstruction and restriction. This aspect is presently separating, allowing the pressure that has built to release in an explosive manner.
Uranus’ entry into Aries brings new beginnings. But no fresh start can come without transformation. That is the phase which we now enter. Those whom are lost in ignorance do not learn without a difficult lesson. The dangers caused by the actions of the power hungry are not noticed by their own eyes without first witnessing the depth of what they have wrought. Those who lust after materialism will not release their desires unless the ‘status’ quo is first overthrown. These are tense times, but necessary for progress.
