Mars Uranus Conjunction – Radiation, Reality and Reconciliation
This dimension of Being, by its very nature involves duality. There is life and there is death, darkness and light, night and day, positive and negative. The Conscious and Aware understand that this is only a matter of perception and judgement. The mind exists in duality to the degree that we conceive ourselves as being separate from our essence, our soul.
On a similar note, Humanity will always be at war with Nature to the extent that it sees itself as a separate entity, and not as part of a greater whole. This confusion results in a desire to control nature to one’s own selfish benefit, rather than to live in harmony with it. We attempt to control it and extort in a harsh and superficial manner, seeking more than that which we need to survive and live comfortably. Nature will support all to which it is connected. The Universe, the Oversoul, is there to give us each what we need. But we are not the only species that it nourishes. And when our actions become harmful to the ecosystem as a whole, then those responsible have become a germ, of which the biosystem must heal itself.
As it is with the macrocosm, so it is also with the microcosm. There are those who feel they are entitled to more than their fair share. And they step on others in their drive for acquisition, neglecting the “bigger picture”. As Che Guevara once said, “The amount of poverty and suffering required for a Rockefeller to emerge, and the amount of depravity entailed in the accumulation of a fortune of such magnitude, are left out of the picture, and it is not always possible for the popular forces to expose this clearly … It is a contest among wolves. One can win only at the cost of the failure of others.”
Many are becoming ever more increasingly aware of the imbalance that exists, and the Illness of Mass Consumption that propels the Machinery of the Uber-selfish. When those, long downtrodden, recognise that enough is enough, they will awaken to throw a cog in the gears that trample them. The Planet, and indeed the Universe will do the same to extinguish the threat which endangers its health. And occasionally, the nourishment and love effected upon us by our Universal Caretaker takes on a form that is apparently harsh. But upon closer and deeper examination, we can understand it to be Love, nonetheless.
On Sunday, 3rd April 2011 GMT, an intense conflagration of planetary aspects reaches a point of exactitude, and acts as a herald of a Spiritual Shift. It is no coincidence that this occurs in the first sign of the zodiac, Aries, the Initiator.
Within twenty-four precious hours, passionate Mars conjuncts the radical and unpredictable Uranus; the light-bearing Sun opposes restrictive Saturn; Mercury the messenger forms a tense aspect with the planet of values, Venus. And in addition, there is a New Moon in Aries. As if this were not intense enough, this massive interaction of planetary energy occurs on the day before Neptune’s ingress into the watery and spiritual sign of Pisces.
Mercury has been in a condition of retrograde motion since the 30th March, altering the tone of its energy from a more extroverted state, to a condition more introverted, yet nonetheless potent, as it is transiting the sign of Aries. This marks a time of strongly driven soul-searching on both the individual and the collective level. Mercury, as it forms a tense aspect known as a semi-square with Venus, is transiting the lunar mansion of Revati, whilst Venus has recently moved into Shatabhisha. As a species, are we of benefit to the Planet, or are we of detriment to the True Greater Good of Universal Consciousness? If we continue in ignorance of the pain which we are inflicting not only unto ourselves, but also the injury of which we are responsible to our environment, then an ever deepening healing crisis must ensue to awaken us to the problem at hand.
With the New Moon in Aries accompanying the aspects present on the 3rd, a shift is promised. Whether we choose to consciously participate is up to each individual. Yet, in the words of the late Sam Cooke, “a change is gonna come.”
Mars will have recently shifted into the sign of Aries on the 2nd April. Mars rules Aries, and is extremely powerful when it transits its Home sign. It will not broker nor accept inertia, and exists in order to create action and “stir the pot”, so to speak. When it comes into contact with Uranus, the word that immediately comes to mind is Upheaval. This contact with Uranus, the planet of radical revolutionary change, is intensified by the fact that both Uranus and Mars will be forming a tense aspect with Pluto in Capricorn.
Uranus rules radiation, and as its aspect with Mars approaches, the situation at the nuclear plant in Japan is spiraling out of control. Yet, this is just an illusion. It was never under control in the first place. The Japanese government has chosen politics over the people out of an attempt to preserve its Economy, fearing a new way forward. Although electrical power may have temporarily been restored, metaphorically speaking, the lights have never been on in the “Control Room”. It is no surprise that as this angle between Mars and Uranus at one end, and Pluto on the other deepens, we are discovering that Plutonium is being leaked into the soil surrounding the reactors, is in water in tunnels outside the reactors, and is likely seeping into the sea. Yet the government tries to claim that marine and Human life is not under threat, although reports prove that the radiation levels are heightening to levels far beyond that which is ‘legal’ with each moment. Both Uranus and Mars are presently transiting Uttara Bhadrapada, which is associated with the rains that quench a parched earth. On the east coast of the United States, radioactive iodine is being detected within rainfall. In addition, trace elements of radioactivity are being discovered as far away as Scotland. Although it is a harsh lesson, we can benefit from the hardship we are currently witnessing and experiencing. We can choose a better way, and accept nothing less.
The New Moon, comprised of a Sun-Moon conjunction, is joined by both Jupiter, with which the New Moon forms a conjunction; and also Mercury, in the lunar mansion of Revati. Revati is connected with nourishment and protection during times of transition. As the Sun completes an opposition with retrograde Saturn in Libra and the lunar mansion of Hasta, the fundamental question remains: will humanity learn from the lesson offered to it and choose a path that preserves and nurtures the planet? Or, will it continue to try to control Nature for its own selfish ends, and also to Humanity’s demise?
With Mars conjoining Uranus, revolutionary transformation is supported. Yet, it must be met with determination and wisdom. Action must be sustained. Conscious choice must continue. And tyranny and control, in any form that they may assume, must be overcome. The Revolution is here, but it certainly will not be televised. We must break the enslavement to not only the Corporation through Mass Consumption of products, but also to the temptation of becoming products ourselves. Truth must be revealed, recognised and accepted, even if the taste is bitter to our spoiled palates. Love sometimes takes a form which is hard to accept. But from a Higher Perspective, it can be understood. And perhaps even embraced.
