It’s a point of pride! And that is exactly the problem! When there is something to prove, it is s sure sign that the ego feels threatened. Otherwise, it would not try to defend. When the ego feels a need to defend, then there is no way to connect to the soul. The line of communication has been severed. You would do best to try to re-establish it, even if it means confronting your fears!
