Saturn and Sun mythologically are parent and child. I recently saw a post online about strengthening the Sun to weaken Saturn. Though the intent behind this post was to alleviate negative tendencies, we are not in essence weakening one to strengthen the other. When one is strengthened, so too is the other only in a more positive manner. These are two aspects of your psyche. The idea is not to weaken one or the other, but to strengthen both as they both serve a positive purpose. Saturn gives us discipline, patience and detachment…the Sun gives us constancy, sacrifice and dignity. We don’t want to weaken either of those. Though I understand the intent of the post I read to be getting rid of the negative tendencies of Saturn, I think we should be careful when choosing our language. I’ll get off of my soapbox now.
