Reports are now coming to light that US forces are dropping food supplies from the air. Call me cynical, if you like, but I have seen this too many times already to not be so. ‘We are the people who protect you and take care of you. Wouldn’t you like us to hang around for a bit longer? We could…… if you would really like…set up a more permanent presence here to keep things secure. Something in return? Oh no….not necessary…but if you insist, how about an air base?’
