Whenever we cut ourselves, a scab is formed so that the wound may heal appropriately. Something similar occurs when we feel emotionally vulnerable or insecure. The initial impulse is to shield or armour, and in many cases rightfully so. But sometimes rather than simply protecting ourselves, the boundary of where the line needs to be drawn becomes somewhat fuzzy and we build a front of false bravado or arrogance. Be cautious how far you take things today out of a desire to defend. In holding to your ethics, all that you need do is to stand in the truth. The rest will take care of itself.
