Just as we peel away the layers of an onion bringing tears to our eyes, so too can the process of shedding ego cause discomfort… sometimes intensely so. We become comfortable in our weakness. It gives us somewhere to hide from the responsibility that accompanies the power of strength. It allows us more time to complain about how we are hard done by rather than accepting onus for our actions. Thankfully so, the purification is speeding up. Although you may be enduring much at the moment, trust that it shall not be in vain.
