Although there is much to be said for firmness, there is little positive that can be said for obstinacy. Quite often, it has no ethical basis. Instead it is driven by hard-mindedness and occasionally even hard-heartedness. If something gets your goat now, you are likely to pedantic in protest. Although irritation may not be avoidable, awareness can ease the tension. Positive momentum is gathering. But patience and tolerance are required to make the most of it.
