No matter how you look at the situation, you cannot figure out what you are doing that is wrong! Perhaps because it is not that you are necessarily doing anything wrong? Doing the right thing does not necessarily ensure success. It depends upon what your idea of success actually is. Does it mean achieving something? Well, you have. You have made the correct choice which honours your ethics and needs. Perhaps that matters more at the moment? If not, then perhaps it should!
