Mars Stations Direct May 2014 – The Great Wall

What can be gained from a challenge? I think the top answer to that question would likely be a headache.  Where there is an aspiration, a calling, and in its pursuit you seemingly come up against brick wall after brick wall, there are a few common responses. You can bang your head against it, likely giving yourself the aforementioned headache. You can also try to find your way around it. But when you find it is about as long as the Great Wall, certainly you are in for a journey. This may be pleasant if you have a hankering for Chinese food, but is quite likely to lead you far off course.

There is, however, a third and more desirable option which was hinted at by the great Lao Tzu, ‘If you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles… if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.’ Take a look at that wall. Notice every subtle nuance. Face it with strength. In your stillness, listen to the wisdom that arises. Refine your approach. And, wait for a cleft in the wall to appear. In such a manner, you will overcome. Any other approach will likely only leave you frustrated.

On Tuesday 20th May 2:32 am London Time (19th May in the States), Mars will make its shift towards direct motion after its long retrograde cycle of nearly two months. For the entirety of this cycle, Mars has been occupying the tropical sign of Libra, the harbinger of balance and refinement. Yet, Libra also has its dark side resulting in a desire to control the outcome. All of the signs represent a step in the evolutionary journey, and that represented by Libra is the point where the soul is completely encased in matter, its fall. Yet, it is precisely this level of evolution that leads to the refinement and the balance for which Libra is so well known, for it is in this realm of existence that we learn our lessons (hopefully) and discern how to make the proper adjustment.

At the time of its shift, Mars will be in the Vedic Lunar Mansion of Hasta. Manifestation and determination are the key words for Hasta. But, there is first a process of endurance. We meet with resistance. Every action brings a reaction. Hasta is where the steel of our soul is tested. We are asked to withstand opposition. As a result, our determination builds. Then when the brake releases, we are ready to go soaring forwards.

So, back to that wall again. Have you found the weakness? Have you discovered your opportunity? Are you ready for success? You may still face a hurdle or two in the coming weeks. As Mars regains ground, it once again squares off with Pluto and Jupiter and opposes Uranus. But remember, tension brings ultimate release.  You know what you are facing. Know yourself and you will surmount any present and future challenge!
